Creative Estonia I PESA Virtual Academy Georgia I 20 January, 2020 - 21 May, 2020

Launched in January 2020, PESA Virtual Academy (VA) Georgia has successfully completed its program on May 21 when the founders of best six startups pitched in front of the jury of international investors.

The journey began at the beginning of this year with fifteen different startup projects, ranging from medical tourism to 3D modeling.

During the 12-week program, PESA participants were given access to video tutorials and regular sessions with Estonian and local mentors to discuss following topics: business planning, storytelling, sales, information about customers, fundraising and general activities. Due to the pandemic, sessions planned for April were conducted online via Zoom.

At the final stage, the following projects were presented to investors: CHU – board game incorporating sign language; GuestMe – service platform for Georgian cuisine and hospitality, Insieme – online booking system for beauty-care/self-care services; VISU – 3D modeling that improves learning process with the help virtual reality, Lego-Logic – development of students’ skills with the help of Lego games, and finally, TravelDent – online platform for dental tourism.

Each team had four intense minutes to pitch their projects to the investors, after which they all received thorough feedback on their presentation skills, business modeling, financial aspects of their projects, and a potential for scalability. As a reward for  completing PESA VA Georgia, each team was awarded a attendee pass to participate in a flagship startup event for the Baltic region, Latitude59, which, due to Coronavirus, will be held virtually this year.

Based on the evaluations of the trainers and participants the PESA Virtual Academy pilot program has been successfully implemented in Georgia; we plan to be back with new program soon.

The project was financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia.

Loov Eeesti (Creative Estonia) and Creative Caucasus would like to wish the best of luck to all project participants.
